Meet Jason Tonelli, a true fishing enthusiast whose love for the sport began in the rivers of the Lower Mainland and the Southern Strait of Georgia. From the early days spent fishing with his Grandpa, Dad, and Uncle, Jason's passion for angling only deepened over the years.

His journey in the fishing industry took off during his teenage years when he started working at local tackle stores. Little did he know that this would be the beginning of a lifelong adventure. Over the next 15 years, Jason gained valuable experience working at various stores, wholesalers, and guiding along the coast. In 2007, he took a significant step by opening his own establishment – Pacific Angler, which has now become the largest fishing tackle store in Vancouver. His guiding division, Pacific Angler Sportfishing, operates multiple vessels, including Grady Whites, rafts, and jet boats, all in pursuit of salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon.

For the past two decades, Jason's primary fishing passion has been the exceptional 12-month salmon fishery in Vancouver and the Gulf Islands. The diversity of this fishery fuels his love for the sport, and he enjoys sharing his expertise through guiding and teaching courses. Jason's knowledge of the Vancouver waters has been showcased on BC Outdoors Sportfishing and Reel West Coast TV shows, in addition to being featured in fishing magazines, local papers, and podcasts.

Recognizing the importance of giving back to the fisheries and industry that have brought him so much joy, Jason currently serves as the Chair of the Lower Fraser Valley Sportfish Advisory Board to DFO for the Vancouver area. He is also a past Director of the Sport Fishing Institute of BC, showcasing his commitment to the sustainability and well-being of the fishing community.
